When we first started Phool & Pheras, one of the earliest decisions we made was to work exclusively in Bangalore.
And this was very much a choice.
We get regular messages, calls and emails from couples asking us if we would plan their wedding in another city. Sometimes it is another metro. Sometimes it is a destination wedding. Sometimes it is a city we would genuinely love to work in.
But every time, we come back to the same answer.
For now, Phool & Pheras plans weddings only in Bangalore.
Not because we cannot travel.
But because of how we choose to work.

We do not want to be planners who are technically present on your wedding. We want to be deeply involved in building it.
Our Work Is Personal, So Our Involvement Has To Be Personal Too
Let me give you a little insight into how we work with our couples at Phool & Pheras.
The three founders are personally involved in every wedding we take on. Your wedding does not get handed off to a random team member after the contract is signed. We are part of the planning conversations. We are part of the design thinking. We are part of the vendor discussions. We are part of the timelines, the details, the chaos, the decisions and the last-minute problem-solving.
We are also personally present at each wedding.
That matters to us.

Because when we say we plan and design deeply personal weddings, we cannot say that from a distance. We cannot understand the couple, the families, the vendor dynamics and the small emotional undercurrents only through a handover document.
Weddings are not just about tasks being completed.
They are about reading the room. Understanding family dynamics. Knowing when to push, when to pause, when to reassure, when to take over and when to quietly fix something without making it everyone’s problem.
That kind of involvement needs presence.
Your wedding does not get passed on after you sign with us. The people who understand your story are the same people who help bring it to life.
Limited Geography Allows Us To Offer Deeper Service
If this is the level of involvement we want to give to every couple and every family, then we have to be honest about what it takes from our end.
Time. Energy. Attention. Familiarity. Access. Relationships. Bandwidth.
Planning weddings across multiple cities may look exciting from the outside. But the reality is that it often changes the way the planning process works. A lot of the work gets outsourced locally. There are more layers between the couple and the people actually executing the wedding. There are more travel days, more recce costs, more coordination gaps and more dependency on teams who may not fully understand the way you work.
That is not the experience we want to build.
We would rather take on fewer weddings in Bangalore and be completely involved, than say yes to weddings everywhere and dilute the way we work.
Because our clients do not come to us just for a vendor list or a moodboard.
They come to us for our thinking. Our involvement. Our eye for detail. Our ability to manage things closely. Our ability to hold the entire wedding together, not just from a planning perspective, but from an emotional and experiential one too.

Working only in Bangalore allows us to go deeper, not wider.
Bangalore Is Our Home Ground
Another reason we work exclusively in Bangalore is simple: this is our home ground.
We know the city. We know the venues. We know the routes. We know the vendors. We know which florist will pick up the phone at midnight. We know which production team can turn something around overnight. We know which makeup artist is calm under pressure. We know which venue has a beautiful lawn but needs backup shade. We know what traffic will do to your guest movement. We know what weather can do to your outdoor function.
And sometimes, that knowledge matters more than people realise.
Because weddings do not always go exactly as planned.
A child can get a toothache in the middle of the night. A bride can decide the night before that she wants to add another function. A vendor can need an urgent backup. A family can suddenly need something no one planned for. A décor element can need to be improvised overnight.
In Bangalore, we can respond to these things quickly.
We have opened up medical shops in the middle of the night because the bride’s nephew had a toothache. We have improvised décor overnight because a bride decided, the night before the wedding, that she wanted to add one more function. We have made last-minute calls, found last-minute solutions and pulled things together because we know this city well enough to know who to call and where to go.
That is much harder to do in a city where you are only temporarily operating.
Being local does not make our weddings smaller. It makes our service sharper.
The Real Work Often Happens Outside The Timeline
The truth is, some of the most important work at a wedding never shows up on a planning sheet.
It is not always the mandap, the entry song, the food tasting or the vendor meeting.
Sometimes it is noticing that a parent is overwhelmed and needs to be gently moved away from a situation. Sometimes it is realising that the couple has not eaten and making sure someone gets food to them. Sometimes it is checking if an elderly guest needs help getting to the ceremony space. Sometimes it is catching a small issue before it becomes visible to the family.
Sometimes it is simply knowing the wedding well enough to make a decision in the moment.
That is the part we care about deeply.
And that is why we do not want to spread ourselves across cities in a way that leaves us dependent on people who were not part of the emotional build-up of the wedding.
We want to know the wedding.
Not just the schedule.
The people. The priorities. The design intent. The family sensitivities. The things that matter to the couple. The things that may look small to everyone else, but are important to them.
Exceptional service is not just about executing what was planned. It is about knowing what to do when something was not.
We Want To Come To Every Wedding With Fresh Ideas
There is also a very human reason behind this decision.
We want to have a life.
And we do not say that casually.
Creative work needs energy. Good planning needs emotional bandwidth. Thoughtful design needs space. Weddings require long hours, high intensity, quick thinking and a lot of presence. If we are constantly travelling from city to city, living out of suitcases, handling unfamiliar vendor ecosystems and stretching ourselves too thin, we know the quality of our work will eventually suffer.
And we do not want that.
We want to come to every wedding with fresh ideas. With the same enthusiasm. With the same attention to detail. With the same ability to care deeply about every couple who chooses us.
Burnout does not create better weddings.
Presence does.
And our decision to work only in Bangalore is also our way of protecting the quality of what we create.
We would rather do fewer weddings with more heart than more weddings with less presence.
This Is Not About Saying No. It Is About Saying Yes Properly.
Working only in Bangalore is not a limitation for us. It is the boundary that allows us to do our best work.
It lets us stay personally involved, closely connected to our vendors, aware of the city, and present for the last-minute moments that weddings always bring.
We do not want to be a team that flies in, attends a few meetings, and depends entirely on local outsourcing. We want to know the wedding inside out: the couple, the families, the venue, the vendors, the design intent, and the small details that matter.
That is why we choose Bangalore.
Because this city allows us to give our couples the kind of service we believe in: deeply involved, personally present, thoughtfully designed, closely managed, and built with real care.
We work only in Bangalore because we do not want to just plan your wedding. We want to be close enough to care for it properly.
With love,
Shuchi
