A Wedding at Amita Rasa and Mulberry Shades, Built Around Sukoon, Playfulness, and Divinity

It is not often that an idea gives you goosebumps right away.

Creative goosebumps, especially, are rare.

But that is exactly what happened when Margi first told us about her relationship with Radha and Krishna. From a very young age, she had felt deeply connected to their love story. The tenderness of it. The devotion. The playfulness. The feeling of finding home in another person.

And then, years later, when she met Nikhil in New York, she felt that same sense of home again.

In him, she found her Kanha.

Once Margi and Nikhil chose Amita Rasa, Bangalore as their wedding venue, there was one feeling we could not shake. We had to bring to life the feeling of those beautiful paintings of Radha and Krishna sitting under the trees of Vrindavan.

Not as a theme.

As a world.

Their wedding was built around three feelings: sukoon, playfulness, and divinity. From there, the entire celebration unfolded as a deeply personal, story-led wedding experience across Mulberry Shades and Amita Rasa, two spaces that allowed us to move between intimacy, nature, nostalgia, and celebration.

The Baithak at Mulberry Shades

The wedding weekend began with a baithak at Mulberry Shades, Bangalore, and it set the tone for everything that followed.

We wanted the evening to feel warm, rooted, textured, and full of memory. Since Margi has a deep love for textiles, and the evening’s headliner was the incredibly talented Ismail Langa of India’s Got Talent fame, who flew in from Jodhpur, the space naturally took shape as a little folk village.

There was floor seating that invited people to sink in and stay a while. Ajrakh throws sourced from Bhuj, Kutch paid homage to Margi and Nikhil’s Gujarati roots. A nostalgic dukaan filled with childhood snacks brought in that instant feeling of familiarity, the kind that makes people smile before they even realise why.

At Mulberry Shades, the evening did not feel like a performance that guests were simply watching. It felt like a gathering. The kind where people listen, linger, eat, remember, and slowly ease into the wedding weekend.

For the baithak, we sourced ajrakh throws from Kutch, Gujarat and styled the space with floor seating so the evening felt like a little folk village rather than a formal pre-wedding event.

It was also one of those weekends where every creative collaborator brought their own magic. Romil Shah flew in from Surat to capture the wedding, while celebrity makeup artist Tanvi Marathe came in from Mumbai to bring Margi’s dream bridal looks to life.

The baithak was not just the beginning of the celebration.

It was the beginning of a world.

Building Vrindavan at Amita Rasa

The wedding itself took place at Amita Rasa, one of the most beautiful wedding venues near Nandi Hills and a favourite for couples planning a destination-style wedding in Bangalore.

If Mulberry Shades held the warmth of gathering, Amita Rasa held the divinity of the promise to come.

Its iconic stone mandap became the canvas on which we built Margi and Nikhil’s little Vrindavan.

The vision was never to make it feel theatrical. It had to feel poetic. Soft. Sacred. Alive.

Hand-painted depictions of Radha and Krishna were created on flowing georgette fabrics that moved gently with the wind. The mandap was built to feel like four trees coming together to form a canopy over the couple, as if nature itself was gathering around them. The floral arches drew inspiration from the temples of Vrindavan, bringing in a quiet sense of reverence.

The mandap ceiling was filled with paintings of Radha and Kanha

The air smelled of sandalwood.

Flute players filled the space with soft melodies.

And for a moment, Amita Rasa did not feel like a wedding venue in Bangalore. It felt like a sacred grove.

We hand-painted Radha and Krishna on georgette fabrics so the artwork would not sit still. It moved with the wind, almost like the paintings had become part of the trees.

Each guest seat held details that added to the experience: parasols, custom lotus hand fans, and ritual cards. These were not just pretty additions. They were part of the storytelling, part of how the wedding held together, part of how guests were invited into the feeling of the ceremony.

Every guest seat had a lotus hand fan, a parasol, and a ritual card, so the ceremony details felt useful, beautiful, and tied back to the world we were building.

The Bride’s Walk

Months before the wedding, Margi had visited Bangalore for a vendor trip and had practised her walk down the aisle.

There was something so moving about seeing that imagined moment turn real.

When the day finally arrived, she walked down the aisle with her parents by her side, while her sister sang her in. Nikhil waited for her at the mandap, and for a few seconds, everything felt suspended.

The music.

The emotion.

The setting.

The people who loved them.

All of it came together in a way that felt almost cinematic.

But more than cinematic, it felt true.

Because the most beautiful weddings are not the ones that only look good. They are the ones where the emotion reaches you before anything else does.

A Quiet Moment After the Vows

One of the loveliest moments of the day happened after the wedding itself.

Margi and Nikhil stayed back at the mandap, just the two of them, and spent some time jamming to their favourite song, We Are Getting Married by Peter Cat Recording Co.

After all the celebration, all the guests, all the rituals and movement, there was something so intimate about that little pocket of time.

No audience.

No rush.

No production.

Just the two of them, dancing inside the world that had been built for their love story.

An Evening at the Amphitheatre

As day turned into evening, the mood shifted again.

The amphitheatre at Amita Rasa was used to create a post-wedding experience that felt soft, glowing, and almost dreamlike. Candles lit up the space. Cozy seating invited guests to settle in. Instrumental music played live, wrapping the evening in a sense of calm after the heightened emotion of the ceremony.

It was mesmerising in the quietest way.

This is one of the things we love most about weddings at Amita Rasa, Bangalore. The venue allows each event to feel distinct, even within the same wedding. The ceremony can feel sacred and rooted, and then the same property can move into something intimate, atmospheric, and almost otherworldly by evening.

For the amphitheatre, we moved away from the ceremony’s Vrindavan language and built a softer evening experience with candlelight, cozy seating, and live instrumental music.

A New York After Party at Mulberry Shades

And then, because this wedding belonged equally to Vrindavan and New York, the celebrations took one final turn.

Guests made their way back to Mulberry Shades for an after party inspired by the city where Margi and Nikhil’s love story unfolded.

The brief was simple: New York, but make it personal.

Guests changed into custom pyjama sets by Sweet Dreams, Margi’s family company, which instantly made the night feel playful and unexpected. The after party featured an NYC skyline-inspired DJ booth, bedazzled Diet Coke cans, and custom coasters marked with the exact coordinates of where Nikhil proposed to Margi.

It was fun, a little cheeky, and completely them.

Not New York in a generic way.

Their New York.

Their references.

Their proposal.

Their humour.

Their people.

The after party was built around their New York story, with an NYC skyline DJ booth, bedazzled Diet Coke cans, custom coasters with their proposal coordinates, and pyjama sets from Margi’s family company.

A Wedding That Felt Like a World of Its Own

What made Margi and Nikhil’s wedding so special was not that it followed one mood from beginning to end. It moved, just like their story had moved.

From a folk-inspired baithak at Mulberry Shades to a Vrindavan-inspired wedding at Amita Rasa. From sandalwood and flute players to a New York-themed after party. From hand-painted georgette curtains and lotus hand fans to ajrakh throws from Bhuj and custom proposal-coordinate coasters, every part of the wedding was intentionally built around something personal.

Every celebration felt different, but nothing felt disconnected.

That was the heart of it.

The wedding was not built around just one aesthetic. It was built around memory, devotion, mischief, nostalgia, and the very specific world Margi and Nikhil had created together. It held where they came from, what they loved, the city that shaped their relationship, and the feeling Margi had carried with her since she was young.

For couples looking at an Amita Rasa wedding or considering Mulberry Shades Bangalore for their wedding celebrations, this is what these venues can hold when the experience is planned with intention. They can become more than beautiful spaces. They can become chapters in a story.

And for Margi and Nikhil, that story was one of sukoon, playfulness, divinity, and finding home in each other.

For Margi & Nikhil 💛

A heartfelt thank you to every vendor who helped bring Margi and Nikhil’s world to life.

What if we told you that we once planned a wedding with four different events, across three different venues in Bangalore, all on the same day?

It sounds like a marathon.

And honestly, it was.

But for Gurpreet and Megha, it was also exactly what the day needed to be. A wedding that moved with energy, intention, and a whole lot of love. A day that held both their cultures, both their families, and every version of celebration they wanted to experience together.

Gurpreet is from Chandigarh and follows Sikh traditions.

Megha is from Delhi and follows Hindu traditions.

From the beginning, it was important to them that both cultures were represented meaningfully. Not squeezed into one generic ceremony. Not treated like an add-on. But given their own space, their own rhythm, and their own moment in the day.

A few days before the wedding, the celebrations began with their haldi.

And if the wedding day was planned like a beautiful, high-energy journey across the city, the haldi was the colourful pause before it all began.

It was fun, bright, and full of that unmistakable pre-wedding excitement. The kind of celebration where everyone is still relaxed, but the feeling of the wedding is already in the air.

There was colour everywhere. There was laughter. There was music. There were families coming together, friends easing into the festivities, and Gurpreet and Megha being celebrated with all the warmth that a haldi brings.

It felt like the perfect beginning to their wedding week.

A celebration that did not need to be serious to be meaningful. Just full of joy, colour, and the people who were ready to show up for them in every possible way.

So the wedding day was designed as a journey.

It began at Royal Orchid, Domlur.

Before the ceremonies, before the movement, before the full pace of the day kicked in, Gurpreet and Megha had their first look.

And it was the sweetest start.

There is something so special about a first look on a wedding day, especially on a day that is going to be as full as this one. For a few minutes, everything else falls away. The timeline, the guests, the rituals, the logistics, the venues. It is just the two of them, taking in the fact that this is the day.

Right after that, the celebrations began with Gurpreet’s baraat.

The energy changed instantly.

The dhol, the dancing, the excitement, the family gathering around him. It brought that unmistakable wedding-day madness into the morning before everyone

made their way to the next venue.

From Royal Orchid, the wedding party moved to the Gurudwara near Ulsoor Lake for the Anand Karaj.

The ceremony brought a beautiful shift in mood.

After the baraat energy, the Anand Karaj felt calm, sacred, and deeply rooted. It was a moment that honoured Gurpreet’s culture with the grace and stillness it deserved. Surrounded by their loved ones, Gurpreet and Megha stepped into the first ceremony of the day with so much warmth around them.

And then, the day moved again.

From the Gurudwara, everyone made their way to Taj MG Road for the Hindu ceremony.

This part of the wedding carried a completely different kind of energy. There was the milni, the ribbon cutting, the varmala exchange, the mangalsutra, and all those moments that bring families into the celebration in the most joyful way.

And of course, there was dhol.

Because what is a wedding without everyone dancing their hearts out at least once before lunch?

The Hindu ceremony felt festive, emotional, and full of movement. It allowed Megha’s traditions to be honoured with the same care, while also bringing both families together in a way that felt celebratory and alive.

After the ceremony, everyone sat down for lunch.

And after lunch, the wedding party made one more move.

Back to Royal Orchid for the cocktail.

By this point, Gurpreet and Megha had already had a first look, a baraat, an Anand Karaj, a Hindu ceremony, and lunch across multiple locations in the city.

Most people would have been done.

Their guests were just getting started.

The cocktail was the perfect close to the day. After the sacredness of the ceremonies and the pace of the morning, the evening became all about celebration. Music, dancing, laughter, drinks, and the kind of release that only comes after a day that has held so much.

Everyone danced their hearts out.

And honestly, that felt like the only correct way to end a wedding day like this.

When we look back at Gurpreet and Megha’s wedding, what stays with us is the movement of it.

Not just the physical movement between venues, though there was plenty of that. But the emotional movement too.

From a quiet first look to a high-energy baraat.

From the serenity of the Gurudwara to the joy of the Hindu ceremony.

From rituals and family moments to a cocktail night where everyone finally let loose.

It was a one-day wedding, but it never felt small.

It held two cultures. Three venues. Four events. Many moving parts. And one couple who wanted their wedding day to feel like a true reflection of both their worlds.

For us, this wedding was a reminder that sometimes planning is not about making things simpler on paper.

Sometimes, it is about making the impossible feel effortless.

And for Gurpreet and Megha, one full, beautiful, breathless day in Bangalore became the wedding they had imagined.

By the end of Shreshtha and Raunak’s wedding, one thing was very clear.

This was not a wedding where people politely attended events.

This was a wedding where people showed up, danced too much, laughed loudly, cheered for every performance, and stayed completely, beautifully in the moment.

It was joyful without trying too hard.

Emotional without becoming heavy.

And fun in the way only a wedding with the right people, the right energy, and one very adorable dog named Bagheera can be.

Beautiful wedding at Aadhya Farms Bangalore

Shreshtha and Raunak’s wedding at Aadya Farms in Bangalore might just have been one of the most fun weddings we have planned.

Their story began at ISB, where they were both pursuing their MBA.

At first, they kept bumping into each other through their best friends. The kind of repeated run-ins that do not seem like much when they are happening, but in hindsight feel like the universe quietly setting something up. Then, at their best friend’s birthday party, something shifted.

And just like that, what began with chance encounters turned into something real.

Honestly, it had the kind of arc that feels straight out of a rom-com.

For their wedding, they chose Aadhya Farms in Bangalore, a venue that gave their celebrations the room to feel open, relaxed, and full of movement. It was the perfect setting for a wedding like theirs, one where the energy came as much from the people as it did from the space itself.

And then, of course, there was Bagheera.

Their dog was easily one of the highlights of the wedding, and anyone who knows us knows how much we love a wedding with dogs in it. There is something so special about seeing a couple include such an important part of their everyday life in a celebration as big as this one. Bagheera brought his own kind of sweetness to the wedding and quietly became one of everyone’s favourite parts of the story.

At home intimate mehendi in Bangalore

Before the larger celebrations began, Shreshtha had her mehendi at home with her closest loved ones.

And there is something so beautiful about a function like that.

No big production. No rush. Just the people who matter most, gathered in a familiar space, easing into the wedding slowly.

It felt intimate and personal in a way only a home celebration can. The kind of afternoon where everyone is close enough to be part of the little moments. Someone admiring the mehendi.

It was the soft beginning the wedding needed.

A moment for Shreshtha to be surrounded by love before the madness and joy of the next events unfolded.

At home intimate mehendi in Bangalore

At home intimate mehendi in Bangalore

At home intimate mehendi in Bangalore

At home intimate mehendi in Bangalore

The celebrations then moved into the haldi.

And this was exactly the kind of haldi that set the tone for everything that followed.

The first half of the event was all about everyone settling into the day with dhol, chaat, and that infectious pre-function buzz that makes a wedding feel alive. People were mingling, snacking, vibing to the music, and slowly giving in to the mood of the celebration.

Then came the phoolon ki haldi.

And with it, all the softness, colour, and chaos that makes a haldi so memorable.

It felt playful and free. The kind of celebration where people are not just standing around and observing, but really stepping into the moment with the couple. There was laughter, movement, and that unfiltered joy that makes photos and videos feel so full of life.

By the time the evening rolled around, everyone was more than ready for the sangeet.

And the sangeet did not disappoint.

Both families absolutely brought it to the dance floor. There was so much enthusiasm, so much cheering, and so many moments where it felt like every single person in the room was fully invested in celebrating Shreshtha and Raunak.

It was one of those evenings where the performances were not just performances. They were an extension of the love everyone had for the couple. People were not holding back. They were owning the floor, hyping each other up, and making the entire evening feel electric.

Nothing about it felt stiff.

Nothing felt formal for the sake of formality.

It just felt like pure celebration.

And then came the wedding.

After all the colour and noise of the first two events, the ceremony brought a beautiful shift in mood. The energy softened, and everything began to feel a little more still, a little more sacred.

The wedding space carried a sense of divinity to it, creating an atmosphere that felt serene and meaningful. One of the loveliest details was the flower cones and bells given to guests as a way to bless the couple. It added such a thoughtful layer to the ceremony, making guests feel like active participants in the moment rather than just attendees.

There was something so beautiful about that.

The idea that blessings were not just spoken, but held. Offered. Felt.

As Shreshtha and Raunak sat together, surrounded by the people who knew and loved them best, the ceremony felt full of grace. It was calm, heartfelt, and deeply special in a way that balanced everything that had come before it.

Sometimes, they are the ones where the joy is already there.
